Sporting KC Youth’s most popular intro to soccer classes – Sporting Stripes (2-5 Years) presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and Sporting Stars (5-8 Years) presented by Nissan – are back and this time with a new Shawnee location at Maranatha Christian Academy!

Registration is now open for all 4-week Winter Sessions. Winter 1 sessions for both Sporting Stripes & Sporting Stars will kick off in early January and Winter 2 sessions are set to begin in mid-February.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need cleats?

Cleats are optional, but not required. Tennis shoes are acceptable.

Do we need to bring equipment?

Sporting KC provides all necessary equipment, including soccer balls. We just ask that you wear comfortable clothes and bring water.

Are the uniforms required?

Uniforms are optional. If you choose to purchase a uniform, they can be picked up on the first day of your session.

Can my child be in the same class as a friend?

Each child will be placed in the class they are registered for. Sporting KC cannot guarantee that a child will be placed in the same class as a friend or family member.

Are there practices or games?

Sporting Stripes & Stars classes are held once a week, during the day of the week and time you registered for. There are no practices or formal games involved.

Is there a waitlist for sold out classes?

Yes! You can sign up for the waitlist for your specific session through PlayMetrics. If a spot opens up, a member of our team will contact you.

What is the refund policy?

Due to the limited capacity and high demand of our programs, all refund requests must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the program. Any refund request made less than seven (7) days before the program start date will incur a $15 administrative processing fee*.

Can I join a session that's already started?

Yes! Email our Sporting Stripes Coordinator at Preston.France@sportingkc.com for a prorated registration rate.
