Sporting St. Louis Named 2019 Sporting Club Network Member of the Year

Congratulations to Sporting St. Louis, who has been named the 2019 Sporting Club Network (SCN) Member of the Year, presented by Price Chopper.

 

President/Executive Director Jeff Stevens accepted the award at Pitch Black, Sporting Kansas City’s annual team awards ceremony, on Friday night at Children’s Mercy Park. Stevens was also accompanied by Dave Beck, Sporting St. Louis Director of Boys, to represent the club in acceptance of the annual SCN Member of the Year award Friday night.

 

Throughout the year, Sporting St. Louis has experienced astounding achievements and high performances on the field, resulting in numerous state, regional and national championships. These various titles include:

Sporting St. Louis has also enhanced its connection with Sporting Kansas City through player development on the pathway to the professional level. Earlier this year, standout boys’ player Edin Clark (2006) was promoted to the Sporting Kansas City Academy U-14 team to further his soccer career.

 

“This award to Sporting St. Louis means to us that the culture we are building with our players, staff, coaches and families is providing the environment for all to be successful,” Stevens said in accepting the award. “Going forward and building on our success this year, Sporting St. Louis will continue to instill the Sporting KC core values, build our club with our play-first program for the younger ages, and hold our players and coaches accountable to play a certain way while continuing to partner with Sporting KC.”
