February Academy Affiliate of the Month: Sporting Iowa
Club Bio
Joining Sporting KC as an Academy Affiliate in 2014, Sporting Iowa provides programs for Boys & Girls, U11-U19 in the Des Moines community.
Sporting Iowa aims to develop homegrown talent who want to maximize their potential and fulfill their dreams, in and beyond soccer. The club’s environment helps players develop their skills and abilities and become well-rounded individuals.
The leadership and coaches at Sporting Iowa emphasize developing players that are talented personally, socially and academically.
Sporting Iowa’s vision is to continue to raise the bar for soccer in the state of Iowa, providing opportunities for players to develop and grow through participation in local, regional and national events.
Players at the club have access to qualified and experienced coaches, along with quality facilities to help each player as they strive to reach their goals and follow their dreams.

- Introduction of ECNL for boys & girls teams
- 13 State Cup Champion teams
- Three State Cup Premier Division Champions
- Added Trace and coaching manual to enhance player development

Jojo is unique in her contagious leadership, technical skills and tenacity. She gives nothing but her best every time she steps onto the pitch. Her technical and tactical proficiency speaks for itself.
Off the field, Jojo spends time building trustworthy friendships with her teammates that allow her to be an influential leader. Jojo is a rockstar!
