October Academy Affiliate Club Spotlight: Sporting Omaha FC

CLUB BIO

Sporting Omaha FC is a non-profit full service youth soccer club that offers all levels of play from 4 to 19 years of age. SOFC develops complete soccer players with key core values which we believe provide our players the best opportunity to succeed at their next level whether that is high school, college, professional soccer or life outside competitive sports. SOFC became a Sporting Kansas City Academy Affiliate back in 2013.

Vision: Cultivating a passion for the game while developing character in coaches, players and parents.

Core Values: Integrity, leadership, discipline, humility, accountability and communication.

CLUB RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

In conjunction with Omaha’s Local Health Department, SOFC hosted a 150 team tournament over Labor Day 2020 that spanned four soccer complexes across the metro area. This maximized social distancing for players and family attending.

COACH SPOTLIGHT

NATHAN MAY
U18 Boys Coach

Coach Nathan May has demonstrated a high level of commitment to his players, his club, and also to his own personal development. His player-centric approach is obvious by the trust and dedication his players show in return. Nathan is patient yet demanding and he is one of the finest communicators at Sporting Omaha, being very keen in laying out proper technical and personal expectations for players. He recently completed his National “C” license and is diligent in executing club developmental guidelines.

JAKE WATSON
2002/03 Girls Coach

Jake provides great balance to our head coach and positive direction to the team. He leads by example and has time for every individual player’s needs.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

RYAN BRAKKE
2002 Boys Player

Ryan has spent his entire youth soccer career at Sporing Omaha FC. As a homegrown talent, Ryan exhibits everthing it means to be part of the Sporting family. His play is clever and industrious and he has a natural comfort level with the ball at his feet. He has developed an aptitude to play on both sides of the ball and shows great leadership capabilities. Ryan will play Division I soccer at Creighton University next year and we are proud to call him our own!

ALLISON NAPORA
2002/03 Girls Player

Allison is a great student of the game & is always humble in her achievements. Her recent accomplishments include being the leading goal scorer on her team for many consecutive years.
