Club Bio

Sporting Brookside’s mission to provide affordable, quality youth soccer programs that build positive character through participation in a fun, family-oriented soccer environment is at the heart of everything they do. Sporting Brookside is not just about the game. It’s about building resilience and character in their players through high-quality youth soccer programs. The club proudly uses its love of soccer to encourage Kansas City-area youth (ages 3-18) to grow and develop skills in soccer and life. Sporting Brookside provides a fair, fun, family-oriented, safe environment for kids to play, while building confidence, respect, sportsmanship and tenacity.

Recent Accomplishments

Sporting Brookside has doubled its number of teams on the competitive side and has a robust grassroots recreational side of over 3000 players. Sporting Brookside is proud to serve its community in many ways and offer quality soccer opportunities for all.

Coach Spotlight

Carlos

Carlos McField

  • Coach (U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U16 Boys, U16 Girls)

Coach Carlos has been working with Sporting Brookside for over 8 years. His players insist he is “the best coach ever.” Along with coaching for Sporting Brookside, Coach Carlos is an assistant coach at Pembroke Hill High School for both the boys’ and girls’ programs.

Fun fact: Coach Carlos has a 6-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son, both of whom play for Sporting Brookside.

Sasha

Sasha Pedersen

  • Coach (U10 Girls, U13 Girls)

Coach Sasha has been working with Sporting Brookside for 2 years. She started working at Sporting Brookside’s Summer Camps and transitioned to the competitive side after completing grassroots courses. Coach Sasha is now in the process of completing her USSF D License and looks forward to continuing to expand her soccer knowledge.

Fun facts: Coach Sasha is also a strength and conditioning coach at TeamWork Sports. Coach Sasha’s U10 girls insist she is “the best coach ever.”

Player Spotlight

Henry

Henry Kramer

  • Boys U9

Henry has had a phenomenal season and contributed immensely towards the success of Sporting Brookside’s U9 Team. He loves soccer so much that he practices twice every Monday and Wednesday; he first practices with his original team (U9 Boys), and then practices with the older boys from Sporting Brookside’s U10 team.

Mia

Mia Engle

  • Girls U12

Mia is a great teammate both on and off the field. She has helped our U12 Girls finish second in their division and will be playing All-Girls HIT Tournament in November. We are proud to have Mia playing with our Sporting Brookside family.
